Good Morning,

FUN FACT
Ursus americanus vancouveri, also known as the Vancouver Island Black Bear, seen on our tours in Clayoquot Sound, are slightly larger than mainland black bears, with a massive skull and only a black colour phase. They are their own subspecies of black bear only seen on Vancouver Island. Unlike other black bear populations, Vancouver Island Black bears tend to be more active during daylight.
