FUN FACT
Sea otters, seen locally on our tours through Clayoquot Sound, are unique among marine mammals for not having a protective, warming layer of blubber. To make up for that, they have incredibly high metabolism (they eat 25% of their body weight in food each day) and a thick layer of fur.
