Good Morning,

FUN FACT

Bioluminescence is the ability of certain organisms to produce light. The glowing that can be observed on the shorelines of Tofino during warm months is mainly caused by single-celled organisms called dinoflagellates. This type of marine phytoplankton or algae emits light when they feel threatened in order to distract predators, which is why you can see them light up when the water is agitated.
