FUN FACT
Brown Pelicans, seen locally in Tofino, dive from as high as 65ft above to capture prey. After catching the prey and a lot of water, they tip their bill downward to drain the water before swallowing the fish. Gulls or frigate birds may try to dive at them and rip fish right out of the pelicans pouch.
