FUN FACT
Maquinna Marine Provincial Park’s hot springs rank as major thermal spring in Canada with high water discharge of about 5-8 litres per second. The hot springs are a result of surface water flowing through a fault to a depth of about 5km where it is heated to an extreme temperature. Hydrostatic pressure then forces the water back up to the surface through fractured rocks.
