Tofino and the Clayoquot Sound provide a world class bird watching environment due to the nutrition in the soil within this protected habitat.
Birds and their young can store the critical fats they need from the various organisms and worms found within the different habitats here of ocean, mudflats, rocky shorelines and old growth rainforest.
