NANUQ, our newest addition.

West Coast Aquatic Safaris’ newest addition to the family, NANUQ, is settling in nicely. She’s a 36 passenger catamaran with an outdoor upper deck that seats 12, a cozy heated cabin; on the lower deck; for everyone, and three outdoor viewing decks for guests to immerse themselves in the west coast experience.  NANUQ means “Master of Bears” in the Inuit language. NANUQ lives up to her powerful name with her 38 foot double hull, her twin 500 HP Volvo Pentas, and her awesome presence. Our entire crew is falling in love with her and she is sparking intrigue and excitement with our guests. This season, NANUQ is used mainly for our Whale Watching and Bear Watching tours. NANUQ has arrived to officially create a fleet here at West Coast Aquatic Safaris, and she is a perfect compliment to our 12 person vessel WASCO.

WASCO has been our sole vessel for the past 3 years and she holds her own against the powerful NANUQ. WASCO‘s name is also Inuit; meaning “Sea Wolf”. She is a 31 foot aluminum vessel that seats 12 people comfortably inside the cabin and 6 people have the option to sit on the exposed top deck for farther ocean viewing and a thrilling ride. In addition to the top deck WASCO has a walk around viewing deck for everyone to observe wildlife. WASCO is our vessel for our Hot Springs tours and for our Sunset Cruises.

Both our vessels have soft seating, a cozy; heated cabin, multiple viewing decks, clean washrooms, and plenty of room to move about. First class boats at a comfortable price. But we can only tell you so much. Come see for yourself. Stop by the office on Fourth Street and Main in Tofino,BC to check out our tour schedule or take a stroll down to the Fourth Street Dock and go take a peek at our fleet. You can’t miss them.
