Was für ein fantastisches Erlebnis! Kapitänin Jacky und ihre Crew waren einfach wunderbar und zeigten uns an einem kühlen, aber sonnigen Oktobermorgen Seeotter, Seelöwen und Grauwale. Wir hatten wirklich Glück, und die Wale kamen ganz nah heran. Einfach wunderschön! Das Boot war ideal, mit Sitzplätzen drinnen und draußen, und glitt sanft durch das Wasser. Die Crew versorgte uns mit vielen Hintergrundinformationen. Ich kann West Aquatic Safaris nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Captain Jacks and deck hand Gordon took us in an amazing whale tour today! They were so knowledgeable about the area and the animals they were taking us to see. They were very respectful towards the marine life and kept a safe distance so as not to cause the animals any stress. Once Jacks found the whales (whom she knew by name by looking at their markings), she turned the boat off and the whales continued to feed giving us an amazing show of water spouts and tail flips. Some of them even decided to swim about 100’ from the boat - almost like they knew the boat and were coming to say hello. We were so lucky to have such calm waters to allow for optimal viewing and were able to see otters and sea lions as well. I 100% would do this again and it was worth every penny. For anybody who is worried about accessibility issues, don’t be! They can accommodate all abilities and disabilities, all ages, and all shapes and all sizes. You do have to wear a life vest throughout the tour which are easily adjusted. I am a plus sized girl, was wearing several layers of clothing (long sleeve, hoodie, vest and a coat), and was able to wear the life vest no problem without an extender, but there are extenders available should you require one. The dock is a short walk from the shop, and there is ample parking in the immediate vicinity of the shop. Should you require accommodations for mobility issues, they have arrangements with the harbour allowing you to park close to the dock. Do not let your fears of body size, mobility, or disability deter you from experiencing what the beautiful northern coast of Vancouver Island has to offer!

Wir hatten einen tollen Ausflug zu den natürlichen heißen Quellen mit Captain Scott! Er war sehr aufmerksam, hat uns den Ablauf und die Sicherheitsvorschriften ausführlich erklärt, und man merkte deutlich, dass er wollte, dass wir eine schöne Zeit haben. August 2023: The best operation in Tofino—highly recommend! Keith and Theresia made checking in and getting set to go a breeze, and Captain Jax and Sydney were knowledgeable and awesome with the 9 kids we and our friends brought on board Nanuq. Would definitely go again. Fantastic way to spend an afternoon in Tofino! August 2024: We were fortunate enough to get back out with this amazing crew on our annual visit. A bear watching trip led to not only several bears, but also a pod of five orcas, a raft of otters, and a few eagles. The team were so great with our kids and their friends on board. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit auf dieser Tour. Falls jemand eine Walbeobachtungstour in Erwägung zieht und noch unentschlossen ist: Zögert nicht, bei West Coast Aquatic Safaris zu buchen – das Team war freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Kapitän Jackie hat das Boot immer genau an den richtigen Stellen angehalten und uns Otter, Seelöwen und Grauwale gezeigt. Auch Mia und Marcie waren sehr freundlich und haben uns interessante Fakten über die Insel erzählt und Tipps gegeben, was man dort sonst noch unternehmen kann.
