Special Memories & Private Charters

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

For many years now Tofino has been seen as a place for adventure and romance.  There are so many wonderful things to do as a group or for couples.  This year West Coast Aquatic Safaris want to offer you the chance to create your own special memories and take a private charter on one of our two special boats to do so.

For couples or groups up to 36 people, WCAS has the perfect boat for your little getaway.  Whether you are looking to do a whale or bear watching trip and just have the boat to yourself or wanting to drift in a tranquil bay while watching the sunset as you propose to your loved one, the team at Aquatic safaris can work with you to to make your magical moment a reality.

So Much To Look Forward To

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Welcome back!

With April behind us we are now rapidly approaching summer and all of the incredible things that come with it. The last thing we would want to do though is skip past all of the wonderful things that May and June have in store for us. Our 1st Annual Feast BC will kick off in a couple of days and is an action packed 29 days and nights of culinary adventure.

West Coast Aquatic Safaris is excited to say that our First Class Vessel & Private Chef tours on May 19th and 24th are selling well. There are still some seats available for either day for those that want to experience something unique.

No Matter What The Weather Is….

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Whether cruising aboard NANUQ (Photo on Left), riding on the flying bridge on WASCO (right) or standing out on the bow deck of either boat, West Coast Aquatic Safaris Will provide a comfortable experience for all.  We offer the best in Commercial rain wear with the Helly Hansen jackets and if you are looking for a greater level of warmth then step inside to the heated cabin.  Each of our First Class Vessels is equipped with satellite radio, Hydrophone as well as a restroom.  Part of the thrill of being on the West Coast is the unpredictability of our local weather.  Knowing that the temperature and conditions can change quickly it is important to have the freedom to move freely in or out of doors to meet your comfort level.

Orca Weekend

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

This season without fail, we have seen Orcas in the harbour or inside waters for at least a couple of days in a row.  Easter weekend they were behind Meares Island, May long weekend there was a group of Transient females in the same general area teaching a young one to eat Stellar Sea Lions and over Canada Day weekend they were up Millar Channel hunting Porpoise.  With this long weekend now upon us the team at West Coast Aquatic Safaris is very hopeful that we will find ourselves as lucky as we have been.

Long Weekend Is Around The Corner

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

We are now approaching the mid point of our summer and it has been a fantastic one for wildlife.  Town has been busy and we expect that it will be much more so over the next couple of days.  Whatever your plans are over the long weekend West Coast Aquatic Safaris would like to remind everyone to make safety a priority.  When making arrangements for Whale, Bear Watching or Hot Springs Tours it is very important to ensure that the vessels are completely Transport Canada Safety Certified such as WASCO and NANUQ.  This has been a priority for Keith and the entire West Coast Aquatic Safaris Team since the day we began and encourage everyone to do the same.

West Coast Wild Life

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

As our guests are seeing, the West Coast is abundant with all kinds of wild life. We are very fortunate in Tofino, to have the beautiful Clayoquot Sound and it’s creatures in our back yard, and we love to share the experience with our guests. Aboard our Bear Watching Tours you will be taken on a tour of our inside waters. NANUQ, our 36 passenger catamaran, cruises the shoreline to see black bears and their cubs foraging the beaches, for their breakfast. Other wildlife has been spotted on our bear tours such as wolves, eagles, otters, and puffins. Our Whale Watching Tours are also aboard our vessel NANUQ and head towards our outside waters. Grey Whales, Humpback Whales, and Orcas (or killer whales) can all be found in Clayoquot Sound. The Greys and Humpbacks we see are here feeding for the summer during their annual migration. We see whales on our tours everyday along with sea lions, otters, and seals. We have trips going out daily. If you book online through our web site you’ll receive 10% off!

Dining Perfection

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Last evening was the first of many sunset and dinner cruises with West Coast Aquatic SafarisWASCO, and Tim our Captain played host to a full crowd on one of the most perfect nights that Tofino and our visitors have seen this summer.  After two hours of enjoying the calm inside waters and wildlife the group returned to our office and quickly headed just a few steps across the road to The Spotted Bear Bistro for a spectacular 3 course meal with champagne to top it off.  It was a perfect night and thank you to Vince and the Spotted Bear team for doing such a great job.  We are looking forward to the next one.
