The Olympic Torch

Last night the Olympic torch made its way in to Tofino. What a great ending to a memorable week for our little town on the west coast of Canada.
This last week started out with Tofino hosting Canada’s first professional surf contest, the O’Neill Cold Water Classic 6 Star ASP World Qualifying Series. By Saturday, Halloween, underdog local
Peter Devries, came out of the water at North Chestermans as the over all winner! Awesome Pete!!
As the torch came down the Esowista Peninsula it had a little detour and was carried out by Ruth Sadler into the surf and brought back to shore by local Surf Legend Raph Bruhwiler.
In town waiting for the torch to come we had already been entertained by gymnast and dancers. As well, singer who once spent part of her life in Tofino and voted Canada’s Best Independent Artist, Kim Kuzma preformed as we waited. What a show!
What a week!!
