Irregardless of the weather this week is sure to be a great one. With the Surf Sister and Shelter Restaurant, Queen of the Peak and the O’Neill Cold Water Classic surf competitions beginning this weekend both Tofino locals and our visitors are in for a treat. The Queen of the Peak comp starts today and will include female long and short boarders from all over competing for over $2,500 in prizes. There is sure to be many incredible women out there tearing up the local break.
Tomorrow marks the start of our second consecutive O’Neill Cold Water Classic. Last years winner was Tofino’s own Peter Devries and this year will bring a whole new group of international competitors looking to steal the show and the tittle. This is a mobile surf competition meaning that it could move from beach to beach on a daily basis depending on the conditions so stay tuned to our Facebook page or listen to the local Long Beach Radio for the daily updates. This week will mean that there are lots of great things going on in and around town and as always West Coast Aquatic Safaris will be right in the middle of it.
This week you could have the chance to get on board either NANUQ or WASCO for an incredible wild life tour and have a chance to take in the Cold Water Classic from the most unique view in town. Outside the break. This is your opportunity to be a part of the backdrop while the best in the world are dropping in and have a bird’s eye view of all of the excitement and cheering crowds as superstar surfers go for big air. Give us a call and don’t miss it.
